Meet the Team

Gillian Patch Principal Solicitor

Gillian is a specialist employment solicitor with extensive experience advising both employers and employees. She founded Patch Law in 2012 after working both in private practice and for the Manufacturers’ Organisation EEF, where she provided advice to a broad range of businesses from SMEs to blue chip companies.

Clients appreciate her understanding of the wider business context which is enhanced through her broad legal background. Gillian’s experience includes commercial law, commercial dispute resolution and civil litigation.

Prior to becoming a solicitor, Gillian ran a busy commercial department within a university, with responsibility for employed staff, freelancers and volunteers. She understands, from direct experience, the employer’s perspective and the need to focus on commercial solutions.

Gillian is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for her clients, and for making the process as comfortable as possible. Clients value her clear and down-to-earth style and her focus on achieving positive results. She also holds an MBA with Distinction and is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association. Outside of work she unwinds by singing with a choir and going for walks with her fun-loving labradoodle.

Some of our Google reviews

5 star review  Brilliant, brilliant service. Gillian genuinely cared about the outcome, and was in regular contact to make sure things were going OK. She took great care to explain legal documentation to me in a way that made it easy to understand, and identified areas where I could get a better deal. Being made redundant is never going to be the nicest experience, but having Gillian on hand gave me confidence and made it much easier to deal with, demonstrably improving the final result. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Patch Law to anyone in a similar situation.

5 star review  Very easy to deal with, efficient in returning calls and emails. Were very professional and helped me to understand the implications of the settlement agreement I was signing in plain English.

5 star review  I engaged Patch Law upon the recommendation of a friend and am so glad I did! I found Gillian an absolute pleasure to work with; warm and approachable whilst being extremely knowledgeable and strategic in employment matters. Gillian’s advice and support helped me to navigate my way through a difficult situation I faced at work on returning from maternity leave to a very satisfactory end. Gillian is certainly someone you want on your side of the battlefield and I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.
