Initial Advice

Discounted Fixed Cost Initial Advice

For many employees instructing a solicitor is unfamiliar territory.  You will understandably be reluctant to spend hundreds of pounds before you know whether you have a case worth pursuing.  But you have a problem at work, or have been dismissed, and need some clear and concise advice from an expert, and you need it quickly, so you know where you stand and what to do next.

Our aim is to make affordable, high quality legal advice accessible to you quickly. You will get clear, jargon-free, honest and practical advice, so that you have a better understanding of your situation and your options at an early stage.

Our menu of 3 discounted fixed cost options gives you the flexibility and freedom to choose initial advice that best suits your needs, budget and time scale.

Initial Brief Case Overview  ▼

Sometimes you need an expert opinion as to whether you have a case worth investigating, or need advice as to what your employment rights are in a tricky situation at work. Our Initial Brief Case Overview offers you a telephone session of up to 25 minutes to discuss your situation and provide you with advice on your next steps.

In the majority of cases we can offer a same-day or next-day service, including early evening or weekend if required.

After the call we will promptly send you an email summarising our advice.

There is insufficient time in this option for us to look at any documents as part of the Initial Brief Case Overview.

This service is provided for a discounted Fixed Cost of £75 plus VAT.

Initial Telephone or Skype Consultation  ▼

• A session of up to 50 minutes on the telephone or using Skype to discuss your problem and give you advice and guidance on your options

• We can look at your contract of employment and up to 5 pages of any key, relevant documents or correspondence you wish to send us by email in advance.  A one page bullet point chronology can often be helpful both for you in considering the important and relevant parts of the history, and for us getting an even quicker grasp of the most important facts. If you are able to prepare this you may get more out of the time available for the Consultation, but it is by no means essential; our solicitors are experienced in asking the most relevant questions to gain the information they need to advise you.

• In the majority of cases we can offer same-day or next-day service including evening or weekend if required.

• After the consultation we will promptly send you an email summarising our advice.

• This service is provided for a discounted Fixed Cost of £125 plus VAT.

Initial Client Meeting  ▼

• A face-to-face meeting of up to 1¼ hours, at our meeting rooms near Kingswood, to discuss your problem and give you advice and guidance on your options.

• We can look at your contract of employment and up to 10 pages of any key, relevant documents or correspondence you wish to send us by email in advance, or bring them to the meeting.

• We can usually offer meeting appointments within 2 working days, sometimes sooner.

• After the meeting we will promptly send you an email summarising our advice.

• This service is provided for a discounted Fixed Cost of £195 plus VAT.

We encourage you to telephone or email us if you are unsure which option to go for.  This enquiry is of course free of charge.  However, we do not give legal advice at this stage.  Our regulators and insurers require that you become our client before we provide you with legal advice.

If your matter is unsuitable for one of the above Initial Advice options, e.g. if you have extensive documentation you wish us to review, or you require a longer telephone consultation or meeting, please let us know your requirements and we will offer suitable arrangements.
